It’s been a good few months since Ride Sheffield launched the very first crowd funding initiative for a bike trail. Over the summer money has been coming in steadily, with some local businesses also putting chunks of money into the pot. With the money pledged so far our total currently stands at just over £8,500 which is amazing. THANK YOU SO MUCH to all who have contributed.
However (you knew there was one of those coming, didn’t you), we have spent the summer and autumn working with Jon Dallow from Sheffield City Council and Bike Track to finalise plans, and there is so much more going on surrounding the area than first thought, and all that has had to be taken into account…

All the info is here: http://www.ridesheffield.org.uk/projects/lady-canning%E2%80%99s-plantation-mtb-proposal/ (note that the map is now out of date) Continue reading
Ten days ago we launched our crowd sourcing project to raise money to build trails in Lady Canning’s Plantation. It’s an excellent site, with great soil and located on the edge of the Peak Park (half of the woods are in the national park) but is a 4 mile traffic free ride from Hunters Bar
Since we launched the project we have been inundated with a couple of things; primarily money! Yes you have been amazing and we have been quite overwhelmed by the support and the good feeling in the Sheffield (and beyond) MTB community, with individuals giving anything from £5 to £100! It has meant that in a short amount of time we have raised just over £2000
The other thing we have had quite a few of is questions! So hopefully we can answer a few of them here….. Continue reading
Welcome to the Ride Sheffield summer update, sorry if it seems to have been a little quiet, but just like parliament, we like to get away for a few weeks in the summer, as do the people who we work with! But here is a quick update on what is going on at the moment with Ride Sheffield. Continue reading
