It’s always a mistake to assume that raising money for a project is the difficult bit and that everything thereafter should be a breeze. We reached our target for RADmires some time ago thanks to the generosity of Ride Sheffield supporters and local businesses and yet the diggers and whacker plates still lie idle. Continue reading
Finally, some proper spring weather and Lady Canning’s Blue Steel trail was absolutely buzzing at the weekend. All ages and all abilities enjoying a beautifully crafted trail – just what we wanted when we originally came up with the idea. Continue reading
Here at Ride Sheffield, we’re very hot on Health and Safety so can I ask everyone reading this to put down any hot cups of tea, sharp implements, chainsaws and the like? Last thing we want is any nasty injuries when you hear our news….which is that we’ve just received a donation of £22,500 pounds towards the RADmires project!! Continue reading
Have you donated more than twenty quid to the Radmires project? We love you! Do you intend to donate more than twenty quid in the next six months? We love you too! Better still, you now stand to win a bike! Continue reading
Thanks to everyone’s efforts, the RADmires fund is doing well! The Winter Social back in December was a tremendous success raising £1800 in one night and since then donations via Paypal and bank transfer have continued at a steady pace. We’ve also received a big boost with a major contribution from Cotic bikes swelling the coffers by over £2000. Continue reading
You may have been thinking that you have missed your chance to race at Peaty’s Steel City DH for another year. With some categories oversubscribed by four times the amount of places that were available you would be pretty lucky to get into the event. But this year we are able to offer three people the chance to get a place in the race after the ballot. Continue reading
As part of the RADmires fund raising we’re offering two really cool experiences for people to get involved with.
Firstly, Ride With Peaty at RADmires. We are offering 10 lucky people the chance to ride with Steve and be the first riders outside of the project team to ride the RADmires trail. Each rider will meet Steve, ride around the Stanage and RADmires area, and probably get in a cheeky pint afterwards. They also get a signed Ride Sheffield T Shirt made out to them from the man himself. All this for just £200 per rider, and the warm glow of knowing you have helped make an awesome trail happen. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, the RADmires fund is already up to just under £7000! The Winter Social was a tremendous success raising £1800 in one night and since then donations via Paypal and bank transfer have continued at a steady pace. We’ve also received a big boost with a major contribution from Cotic bikes swelling the coffers by over £2000. Continue reading
It’s official! At last nights’ 5th Birthday Meeting, we announced our latest Crowd Funder:
After the massive success of Lady Cannings we are at it again, this time at Redmires, which sits between Stannage Edge and Sheffield City.
First a little recap of what we achieved Lady Cannings:
– First and currently only crowd funded mountain bike trail in the UK, possibly the world.
– First dedicated mountain bike trail to be built in the Peak District National Park
– Over 14,000 runs down in 14 weeks since it opened on Strava alone
– £75,000 raised between crowd funding, local business donations and Go Outdoors major contribution to complete Phase 1 and the additional trails to be built in 2016. Continue reading
